Over a decade ago, I picked up a camera for one reason: my father - a master of traditional Persian music - was 90 years old, and I was acutely aware that his stories might not be with us forever. Stories about what it felt like to perform in Tehran in the 1950s, the anecdotes and genius of fellow musicians long since passed. I wanted to capture all of it.
I had no professional intentions. I was - and remain - an orchestra conductor, composer, and educator. But something unexpected happened. I couldn’t put the camera down.
The combination of captivating images and a person’s story told in their own words. The way a face lights up recalling a cherished memory. The way a gesture says what language cannot. I became hooked on the art of documentary storytelling, and I’ve never looked back.
Artists, arts organizations, and other non-profit orgs all carry a unique vision that goes far beyond what any bio or mission statement can convey, and in today’s world, that vision has to travel. Audiences, funders, and community members are increasingly living their lives online. If your story can’t be told quickly, authentically, and compellingly in a shareable digital format, it often goes untold - or worse, misrepresented.
We craft videos, not to replace the live performance or the in-person experience - nothing can - but to create a digital counterpart that captures its spirit and extends its reach, to inspire others to enter your world.
I approach every project the way a fellow artist would: by listening first. Before any camera is turned on, I take the time to intimately understand your work, your values, and what makes you irreplaceable in the communities you serve.
From there, I plan, direct, shoot, and edit each project in-house, working alongside a trusted team of top Bay Area professionals. My team scales to fit the needs of each project — from a small, intimate interview setup to a full multi-camera production. Every element is handled with care and intention.
My vision for the future is simple: I want every non-profit and performing arts organization I work with to feel a deep, confident trust that I will bring awareness to their vision, their creative work, and their importance in the community.
If you’re a performing arts organization, non-profit, or community group in the Bay Area looking to bring your story to life on screen, I’d love to connect.
